Pricing and process

How a project works.

How much does landscaping cost in Malaysia?

There is no single rate, because every garden is different. Our pricing depends on the size of the area, how much groundwork and levelling is needed, the plants and materials chosen (a lawn with border planting costs less than a courtyard with pavers, feature trees and lighting), and site access. We start with a consultation, then send a written quotation broken down by scope so you can adjust it before anything is booked. WhatsApp us a few photos and your rough budget and we will tell you honestly what is realistic.

What is the process for a new garden project?

First, a consultation: we look at the site (in person or via photos and a video call), discuss how you want to use the space and note the light, drainage and soil conditions. Second, a concept and quotation: layout, plant list and materials. Third, installation: groundwork, hardscape such as paths or pavers, then planting and finishing touches like lighting or pebbles. Finally we hand over with care notes, and can continue with scheduled maintenance if you want the garden kept in shape.

What is included in a garden consultation?

A consultation assesses your site conditions (sun and shade through the day, drainage, soil, access and existing plants), clarifies how you want to use the garden, and results in recommendations on garden concept, plant selection and a realistic maintenance strategy. It is also the basis for a quotation if you decide to proceed with design and build or maintenance.

Do you offer garden design only, without installation?

Our strength is design and build together, because the same team that plans the garden plants and finishes it. That said, if you already have a contractor and only need plant selection advice or a planting plan, book a consultation and tell us what you need; we will be upfront about whether it makes sense.

How do I get a quotation?

WhatsApp +60 12-394 9131 with a few photos of the space, your location and what you have in mind, or see our contact page. For most projects we will arrange a site visit to measure and assess before quoting. There is no obligation to proceed.

Maintenance and coverage

Keeping gardens in shape.

How often should a garden be maintained in the Malaysian climate?

Plants grow all year here because it is warm and wet, so gardens need more regular attention than in temperate countries. For most landed homes a monthly visit keeps lawns, hedges and beds in check, and we come on request in between. Gardens with fast-growing hedges, large lawns or many flowering plants may want extra visits on request, while low-maintenance pebble and foliage gardens can stay on the monthly visit. Condominium and commercial grounds are usually on a scheduled contract. We recommend what suits after seeing the garden rather than applying a fixed rule.

Which areas do you serve?

We are based in Puchong, Selangor, and work throughout the Klang Valley: Puchong, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Klang, Damansara and Subang Jaya. We also take projects in Nilai in Negeri Sembilan. If your location is slightly outside these areas, ask us; larger projects can justify the extra travel.

Do you take on condominium and commercial landscape maintenance contracts?

Yes. We maintain common-area landscaping for condominiums and commercial buildings, including planter beds, hedges and green walls, boundary trees, pool decks, driveways and entrance landscaping. We work with joint management bodies, management corporations and property managers on a scheduled contract, and can provide a scope of work and site report for committee approval.

Do you handle green-waste disposal and clearing of overgrown gardens?

Yes. Green-waste removal is part of our maintenance and build work, including hedge and tree pruning offcuts and clearing overgrown or neglected gardens before a refresh. We take the waste away with us so you are not left with piles at the gate.

Can you refresh an existing garden for a festive season or event?

Yes. Seasonal and festive garden refreshes are a regular part of our work: tidying and pruning, replacing tired plants, adding colour with flowering plants, topping up pebbles or mulch and touching up lawns so the garden looks vibrant for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Christmas or a family celebration. Book early in busy festive periods.

Services and products

Plants, rentals and edibles.

Can I rent plants for my office or an event?

Yes. Our plant rental covers offices, commercial spaces, events and temporary installations. We deliver and set up the plants and planters, maintain them on a schedule for longer rentals, and swap out any plant that is not doing well in that spot. For events we can set up before and collect after, so you do not have to look after anything. Tell us the space, duration and look you want and we will suggest a selection.

Can you build an edible garden at my home, school or office?

Yes. We design and build edible gardens for private homes, community gardens, schools and commercial projects, from backyard raised beds and trellises to rooftop planters like a rooftop food garden we built in KL. We also run hands-on workshops covering soil and vermicompost, seed sowing, seedling care and planting days, and we can advise on which vegetables, herbs and chillies do well in your particular spot.

What products do you sell?

Tanaman Garden Products is our in-house range developed from real-world gardening experience: Vermi Compost (100% organic), Plant Vitamin (a foliar fertiliser, 100% organic), Ornamental Soil Mix for pots and planters, and Honest Garden Soil for general planting. We also have a Tanaman cap. Enquire on WhatsApp for availability and current pricing.
